The Value-Based Price (VBP) page shows the relationship between maximum willingness-to-pay for a designated measure of effectiveness and the maximum price that may be charged for a strategy if it is to be cost-effective versus the designated comparator(s). The VBP page can be accessed by clicking on in the navigation menu on the left side of the screen.
hēRo3 calculates VBPs by running a model using three arbitrary values for the specified price parameter to determine if the relationship between a strategy’s price parameter and the ICER versus each comparator is linear. VBP can be visualized either as a line chart or in tabular format.
To change the outcomes and costs that you use to calculate VBPs, or to make any other changes to the displays, click 'Configure VBP Analysis' and make the appropriate selections to the VBP Configuration. To rerun the model with different input values, use the User Override Menu functionality at the bottom of the Configuration Sidebar, and click the 'Run VBP' button.
The layout of the Value-Based Price page is described below.
-
Display Modes
The display modes buttons allow you to toggle between different ways of visualizing the selected data.
-

The export button allows you to export the currently displayed table or figure.
-
Display Area
The display area shows the selected table or chart.
-
VBP Controls
This section allows you to run the VBP analysis by clicking the 'Run VBP' button. A message is displayed in this section of the inputs that the model has been changed since the last time the VBP was run.
-
VBP Configuration
The VBP configuration section allows you to select which outcomes and costs will be used in the VBP calculation, what strategy will be treated as the intervention, and what maximum value should be considered for the willingness to pay threshold.
-
Display Configuration
The display configuration section allows you to control various style properties (font size, color schemes, etc.), which affect how the currently selected table or chart is displayed.
-
User Override Menu
The User Overrides section allows you to change the values of inputs to your model. Clicking the 'Manage Override Values' button will allow you to select which parameters are shown in this section. Please note that the 'Manage Overrides Values' button may not be visible when opening a shared model, depending on the permissions the sharer has granted you.
