Numerous pages on the hēRo3 platform utilize a tabular user interface for data entry and presentation which we refer to as the ‘Grid’. Functionality included on pages utilizing this framework is described below.
Adding and Removing Rows
To create a new row, click the 'Add' button in the toolbar at the top of the page, and a new row will be added immediately after your last currently populated row.
To delete a row, click on the action button at the end of the row you want to delete, and select 'Delete'. You also may delete multiple rows at the same time by using ‘shift + click’ to select cells spanning the rows you want to delete; once you’ve selected all of the rows you want to delete, right-click and select ‘Delete Rows’ from the right-click menu.
Copying, Pasting, and Duplicating
To copy information from one row or column (or multiple) to another, select the information you would like to copy by using ‘shift + click’ then use ‘ctrl + c’ to copy. To paste the copied information, select where you would like to paste and use ‘ctrl + v’ to do so.
To duplicate a row, click on the action button at the end of the row you want to duplicate, and select 'Duplicate'. If you want to manually change where a particular row is displayed, you can drag it up or down using the drag handle at the beginning of the row.
View Menu
The View Menu allows you to control how the information you have entered is displayed. From this menu, you can choose whether to fit all columns to the width of your screen or to fit all columns to their respective content. These two options are mutually exclusive—that is, you can choose either to see all columns but not necessarily all of the information in each of them, or you can choose to see all of the content in each column, but not necessarily all of the columns at the same time.
The View Menu also allows you to enable row grouping on pages that support it.
Help Menu
The Help Menu lets you view the Help overlay, which includes descriptions of the various features and functions of the page you are on. Through the Help Menu, you also may access the relevant section of the hēRo3 User Guide with additional information about the page that you are on.
Column Editing
In the header for each column, you also will find a menu that allows you to set filters and to configure view options for that column.
Filtering
Filters allow you to select or search entries in rows by Name, Description, Category, and so forth, or to select or deselect all row entries. If you choose to do so, you may filter using more than one column at the same time. You may also filter or search all columns at once using the search bar in the upper right corner.
View Options
View options from which you may choose include: (a) pin column (right, left, no pin); (b) auto-size column; (c) auto-size all columns; and (d) reset columns. Pinning a column allows you to view it either on the left side or the right side of the display and resetting a column will return it to its original location. Auto-sizing one column will resize it to display all data in the column, while auto-sizing all columns will resize all columns to display all data in all columns (which may necessitate scrolling left and right to see all of them). Reset columns will reset all columns to their original width.
Sorting
You can sort information on any page according to the information in any column by clicking directly on its name. Clicking on the column name once will sort all rows in ascending order, clicking on it again will sort all rows in descending order, and clicking on it a third time will turn off sorting. You also may sort multiple columns at the same time by using ‘shift + click’ to select column headers spanning the columns on which you want to sort (eg, sort by Category and by Name).
