Net Monetary Benefit (NMB) is one of the tabs used to display Base Case Results and provides a breakdown of how costs and outcomes contribute to the monetary value of using the selected intervention instead of the comparators. Net Monetary Benefit is calculated as:
NMB = λ * ΔE - ΔC
Where lambda is the willingness-to-pay threshold for the specified outcome, ΔE is the difference in outcomes for the strategies being compared, and ΔC is the corresponding difference in costs. A positive NMB indicates that the selected intervention is cost-effective versus the comparator(s) at the specified WTP threshold. NMB can be visualized either as a bar chart, a waterfall chart, or in tabular format.
To change the outcomes and costs for which NMB is calculated, the strategies that are compared, or to make any other changes to the displays, simply make the appropriate selections in the Configuration Sidebar. To change the willingness-to-pay threshold for a specified outcome, you must navigate to the Summaries page, and enter the desired threshold in the 'WTP' column.
To rerun your model with different input values, use the User Override Menu at the bottom of the Configuration Sidebar.
