Settings is the first stop on the hēRo3 Subway; it is the page that comes up when you first open a model. This page lets you specify various highlevel settings for your model, including country of interest, discount rates for outcomes and costs, model timeframe, as well as others. A complete listing of userselectable controls in Settings is shown below.

Description
Country
Select country for which the model will be run. This controls the currency used to display results.

Discount rate you want to use to discount future outcomes. The value you enter must be between 0 and 100.
Discount Rate (Costs)

Discount Rate Method
Use to specify how discounting should be applied in each cycle of your model; options from which you may choose are as follows:

Cycle Length
Use to set the length of cycles in your model. Enter the desired length of each cycle in your model as well as the applicable time unit (days, weeks, months, years). Please note that transition probabilities as well as costs and outcomes that depend on state residency time must be set up in a manner consistent with cycle length. For more information, see here.
Timeframe
Use to specify the timeframe of your model. Enter the total number of cycles over which you want your model to run as well as the applicable time unit (days, weeks, months, years).
HalfCycle Correction Method
Use to specify how the probability of state membership should be calculated in your model; options from which you may choose are as follows:

Days Per Year
Use to specify the number of days each year should be assumed to have (eg, 365, 365.25). If you do not select something else, each year will be assumed to consist of 365 days.
